Cinnamon Raisin Bread and a cup of tea…

Cinnamon Raisin Bread and a cup of tea. Two of my favorite things to eat in the morning. The bread always toasted with a bit of butter, the tea with a bit of honey. So I wondered to myself yesterday…why have I never made it homemade? I searched the internet high and low for a recipe. Finally I came up with a few recipes and went for it. I mixed and let it rise. I baked it and couldn’t wait to try. The apartment smelled like a wonderful bakery. The finished loaf was golden brownish on top and made a hollow sound when thumped on the bottom just as the recipe said. Now my loaf was anything but perfect looking from the outside. I could have maybe baked it a bit longer to brown it up more and spent a few more minutes shaping it but all in all the rise was perfect. I did forget to add a swirl of cinnamon sugar during the shaping process, but I can always do that during my next try.
The bread tasted good. It was a bit denser then the breads that you find in a regular bakery. Of course they know what they are doing where as I don’t. For a first try I have to say it came out just as I expected. Not picture perfect and a little dense.
I am looking forward to toasting it again for breakfast and maybe even trying it out this weekend for french toast!

  1. Whenever I get my hands on cinnamon raisin bread, I have to make french toast. It’s like a law of the universe or something. I might even try baking a loaf myself now…
