Chili is one of my favorite things

Chili is one of my favorite things to make when the weather gets cooler and the sun goes down sooner. I have always made my chili the same way with ground beef. I have been told never to change the recipe because everyone who eats it loves it. I also get requests to make it often.
Lately I have been searching the internet to find different ways to make chili. I have come across recipes that have chicken. Others have different kinds of beans. Some make it with chunks of beef. It is not that I don’t love my regular standby recipe, but I just want to try something different. Nothing will be as good as the first, but it is nice to try.

Anyone know of any good recipes?

  1. Have you ever made vegetarian chili? I did last week and it was actually really good. It had poblano peppers and squash. My only gripe was that it wasn’t spicy enough but that was easy enough to correct!

  2. I don’t have a go-to chili recipe (I usually try something different almost every time I make it, but then I don’t make chili very often… although now is probably a good time to make a big pot).

    That said, I have made a black bean (veggie) chili that was really good. It had black beans, corn, squash, etc. But I usually like the classic with ground beef best.

  3. Super Quick and Easy Chili

    1 jar of spagetti sauce (I like Ragu Traditional), 1 packet chili flavoring from spice section, 1 lb ground beef (browned), 1 can of red kidney beans, 1 can of black beans, 1 bag of frozen onion and pepper slices.

    Throw it all together and let it cook on the stove for at least 30 minutes. Top with shredded cheddar and WALA… easiest chili ever… and its good!
