For the kids.

Since we are only inviting three children to the wedding I decided that I wanted to give them a little something special. I didn’t want them to be bored while we do things like toasts, cake cutting and announcements. Kids really don’t care about those things.

So who do you go to for great ideas…Martha Stewart!

{How adorable is that!}

So I made the above boxes for the three children. Each has a set of crayons, a coloring book, pez dispenser and a couple of little odds and ends in there. I love the fact that they can also decorate the outside of the box and it is a carrying case for their stuff. I hope they enjoy using them as much as I did making them!

  1. So I’m really curious – did you intentionally not invite kids to your wedding? I’m not engaged or anything, but I was talking to someone and apparently I have fairly developed views on the issue and think weddings should be kid-free zones (at least the ceremony, and maybe the reception too, depending on the formality). I thought this was pretty normal, but turns out people get offended when kids aren’t invited? Who knew. Only leaving this long winded comment because I was JUST talking about it with someone and you’re the first person to mention it after!

    PS – the boxes are adorable and a great idea! 🙂

    • To answer your question – yes I intentionally did not invite kids. Only three were invited because they are our relatives. I believe weddings should be a kid-free zone. The only exception is if you have kids of your own or have a lot of children in your family that you are close too. We have very little children in our family only the three.
