Life as of late.

I can’t believe the last time that I wrote on the blog was almost a month ago. It feels as thought I just pushed publish on the last post.

A little that has been happening..

– I celebrated yet another birthday. This one brings me into the next category of life. I went from one age bracket to another. It is a year older that has me thinking about where I am in my life and what is coming up next.

– Mr. Sweet and I went on a glorious vacation to Mexico. I think of our time there everyday and wish we could go back. I miss the sunsets, beaches and laid back atmosphere.

– We are in the process of looking for a new place to live. We love our little apartment but it is getting a bit small for our liking and we are hoping to find something bigger with a backyard. So far the search isn’t going well. So many places are either too expensive, not in the area we are looking for or don’t allow pets.

– An injury that I have had for a while flared up during our Mexican vacation. When we returned to the States I realized it wasn’t something that I could continue to push off and went to see my doctor. I am scheduled for surgery this Thursday and freaking out.

Well, enough rambling out of me. After surgery I will have plenty of time to write and hope to get back on track. Chat with ya later!

Delightfully Living: Day 187– Day 192

365 photo project – the simple act of taking a picture every day for a year. The idea behind starting the project is for me to try to get myself to slow down and take a different look at the world. The series is called Delightfully Living. This is Day 187 – 192.

What you will see: moments of time, food, details of the world around me and things that I enjoy.

July Roundup

I have decided that at the end of each month I am going to do a roundup as a reminder to myself of the great things that happen. It is a simple but effective memory keeping tool. It’s a great way to feel a sense of accomplishment, and get us ready to greet a new month of possibilities.

Day 184: A 4th of July feast!

Day 185: On the 5th of July most of our friends had off. So after work we decided to meet a few of them for drinks by the pier. After a misunderstanding, 2 train rides and a 5 block walk we made it.

New York, New York.

Via All The Buildings In New York

New York has been a part of me all of my life.  It was where I had my first real corporate job, where I fell in love, where I had my heart broken for the first time and so many more memories I couldn’t even begin to list.  So when I came across illustrations by James Gulliver Hancock I fell in love.

Description from his site: All The Buildings In New York is a personal project of James Gulliver Hancock. An illustrator from Australia now based between Sydney, and New York. This project stems from an interest in obsession and recording of places. New York holds a special place in everyone’s heart, romanticized from Seasame Street and old movies like Rear Window and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This blog records an attempt to make the city personal by passing a pen over every structure, hopefully making up for the time not spent in New York.”

I would love to frame prints of his of spots that are important to me.  For now I will have to make do with his incredible book.  If you love New York as much as I do, take a look.  You won’t be disappointed.
