July Roundup

I have decided that at the end of each month I am going to do a roundup as a reminder to myself of the great things that happen. It is a simple but effective memory keeping tool. It’s a great way to feel a sense of accomplishment, and get us ready to greet a new month of possibilities.

It is suppose to be a simple but effective memory keeping tool, a great way to feel a sense of accomplishment, and get us ready to greet a new month of possibilities.

Delightfully Living: Day 61 – Day 67

365 photo project – the simple act of taking a picture every day for a year. The idea behind starting the project is for me to try to get myself to slow down and take a different look at the world. The series is called Delightfully Living. This is Day 61 – Day 67.

What you will see: moments of time, food, details of the world around me and things that I enjoy.

Day 61: Over the weekend Mr. Sweet & I visited Guitar Center. aka Heaven for the Hubby.   He needed new strings for his guitar and we wanted to look around. We came so close to buying an acoustic base guitar.

Day 62: A Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte made for dessert. {Blog post to come}

Day 63: Both of us having been trying hard to fight off a cold. My slow cooker Chicken Soup always does the trick to scare away those nasty germs.

Day 64: Playing around with scrabble tiles while waiting for Mr. Sweet to take his turn.

Day 65: “My name is Henri. I’m made of cork. I should float but I feel as though I am drowning..”  Henri is very french noir.

Day 66: Reminder: Don’t ever leave a drawer open. Not even for a minute. Layla gets into the smallest and weirdest of places. We have to constantly remember that we have a curious kitty who loves to get into everything.

Day 67: The snow storm we thought was going to hit yesterday came today. What a pretty site to wake up to in the morning.

Delightfully Living: Day 33 – Day 39

365 photo project – the simple act of taking a picture every day for a year. The idea behind starting the project is for me to try to get myself to slow down and take a different look at the world. The series is called Delightfully Living. This is Day 33 – Day 39.

What you will see: moments of time, food, details of the world around me and things that I enjoy.

Day 33: A group of us went the International Great Beer Expo in the Meadowlands. This international beer tasting extravaganza showcased more than 50 breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country’s proudest brewing achievement. Of course I made pretzel necklaces for the occasion (they help cleanse the palette).

Day 34: Sunday Mr. Sweet & I attended a funeral of a friends family member. Afterwards, we decided to have a quiet night with ice cream.

Day 35: Layla was transfixed with her image.

Day 36: I love Doctor Who and received this T.A.R.D.I.S which is part of a salt & pepper shaker set. My husband laughs because I use it as a decoration more then a holder for salt.

Day 37: One of my all time favorite pictures I have ever taken of Layla.

Day 38: After a long day at work, then a long night of conversations about an upcoming trip we are thinking of planning with friends all I wanted to do was cuddle in bed with a book.

Day 38: A blizzard is said to hit our area today. It started to snow when I drove in. As of 11:45 not one person has come into the office except for me. What was I thinking?

January Roundup

Mr. Sweet & I were joking the other day that we couldn’t remember what we ate for dinner the night before. With the amount of time we spend running around doing errands, working, cleaning and sleeping it is easy to forget the good things that have happen. We all get so caught up in our everyday lives that we forget to stop and smell the roses.

I have decided that at the end of each month I am going to do a roundup as a reminder to myself of the great things that happen. It is a simple but effective memory keeping tool. It’s a great way to feel a sense of accomplishment, and get us ready to greet a new month of possibilities.
